I have a new business carrying out personalization and localization of gifts using a laser engraver. Amongst other things this is the coolest gadget!
Here are some samples of things I have made:
This 12"x12" marble tile is my fathers day gift. I created it using old photo's
of me and my family, added a poem and scanned in a hand written message to complete.
He loved it and has since spent a lot of time looking at it. (click photo for more detail).
This is a glass, laser etched by me! It is one of the first things I produced on the new laser engraver.
Here you can see the laser in action! It is etching on a black marble tile. The bright
line at the bottom of the picture being etched is the laser vaporizing the marble. The
effect is a set of very, very small pits in the surface at 600dpi which make a detail
black and white image.
This is a picture of me walking the Inca Trail in January 2006. The walk was worth every little bit of struggle.
