San Diego
We have finally made it into our permanent home here in San Diego. We love the house. It has a spectacular view over a lagoon and out to the Pacific Ocean. The room sizes are ideal for our family.
We are located at the top edge of a hill so we get a lovely fresh breeze. The hill causes an uplift of air so there are often hawks gliding on the wind overhead and sometime we look down on them as they drift past.
Often in San Diego it seems that there isn't much wildlife, but that isn't an issue here. We have rabbits, coyotes, many birds (including lots of tiny hummingbirds), butterflies and many other types of creatures who pass by.

A "Red Tailed Hawk" flying over our house with a crow in chase trying to make sure it doesn't stay around too long. This is a common hawk in the area and has a wing span of over 4ft (1.27m). When this photo was taken there were 2 others in the area.

A hummingbird at our feeder in the garden. These are around 3in (7.5cm) long. They are gorgeous to look at and its amazing watching them flying around.

There are lots of lizards here. I guess there are different species, but for now they all just look the same!

We found it hard to believe that we needed a 40ft container, but it was pretty full. This is the container being unloaded last week. Renee is not there to help, just to smile and look pretty!

Its a big container, mostly full of Renee's shoes.

View from the back of the house. The Pacific Ocean is visible at the end of the lagoon, although its not so clear in this shot.

A zoomed in version clearly shows the lagoon in the foreground and the ocean beyond. The lagoon is a nature reserve with a very nice walk along the north side (the right side in this picture).

A nice place for lunch. To give an idea of the height take a look at the cars in the top right of the picture. The hillside has shade in the early morning which helps the trees and plants to flourish, so we have a lot of wildlife to look down on from the observation platform. After a traffic accident we watched a helicopter land on the road below.

Back view of the house. The downstairs floor is living room and dining room, the upstairs is the master bedroom.

A visiting rabbit. These are a slightly different variety with longer ears than the UK ones.
