Caribbean cruising
We had a great cruise on the Sun Princess ship from 11-21st October 2006. We didn't have much time to plan as our friends Carol & Ted were taking the Sun Princess from Seattle to Ft. Lauderdale. When Carol looked around Ft' Lauderdale for something interesting to do she saw that the ship was going through the Caribbean next and that the prices were great as its still in the tail end of hurricane season! Before going further I should say that we had perfect weather the whole time and were not hit or diverted by a hurricane!
We only decided to join Carol & Ted a few weeks before the start of the cruise. Having heard how good the diving is in the Caribbean we decided to get PADI certified before we went. We were looky to find a store with a course about to start that would complete in the 3 weeks we had available. For those that have not been diving I can now thoroughly recommend it!
The cruise went to Princess Cays (basically a beach owned by Princess, but with good snokeling), St. Thomas (our 1st 2 dives of the trip), Dominica, Barbados, Isla Margarita and Curacao (the 2nd 2 dives of the trip).
Everything's OK!
This is a fish inside a ship wreck at 40ft. Normally the red color of
the coral doesn't show, but it is revealed using the camera flash.
At one of the beaches in Barbados you can feed the turtles. There were about 7
there with us. They swam all around, even bumping into us to get at the food! It
was a magical experience.
